Day Three - Websites and World Religions

Anaru and Andrew from Core Education came into the Office today to discuss our website and how this will be our curriculum platform. We discussed how our site and resources must meet the needs of both Office 365 and Google schools. Security and page tags within the website were areas we addressed. A focus on creating authentic audiences for students using digital tools was analysed and global connectivity is a key goal.

Exciting times ahead on our journey which is seven days away from finishing 😃

Paul O'Connor is currently teaching Year 13 Religious Education at Catholic Cathedral College. For term two he is introducing his students to a range of world religions present in Aotearoa. Paul is looking to develop in his students analytical skills and for them to question why world religions are prominent within the media today. Alternative forms of assessment are a key goal for Paul as he looks to meet his students learning styles. Video's, speeches, teaching lessons, blogs, interviews, art and Ignite presentations are possible options in addition to a written essay. Paul knows his students and what will work for them. By creating the assessment himself he feels he can improve the outcomes for the students in his class.

Well done Paul.
